Description
12 Jazz Standards Arranged for the Acoustic Guitarist
Online Instructional Audio Included
Grammy Award-winning guitarist and acclaimed author Mark Hanson has transcribed and typeset 11 tunes from his “Great American Songbook for Guitar” album and one from his “Love Songs for Guitar” album, and included them in this great collection. Mark is a great arranger, player and teacher, and presents these 12 jazz standards in a descriptive, understandable format. Standard notation and tablature are included for all the tunes. The online instructional recording includes an audio snippet from each tune, plus Mark talking and playing you through the more challenging parts of each arrangement.
Standout arrangements include Mark’s “Take the ‘A’ Train” (“best I’ve ever heard” – German virtuoso Peter Finger); a stunning medley of “Brother Can You Spare A Dime/When Johnnie Comes Marchin’ Home/Star Spangled Banner”; and a jaunty, uptempo “I Left My Heart in San Francisco.”
Available as a print book & online audio by mail order.
