Description

This beautiful 96-page book contains ten of Paul Simon’s best songs transcribed from Simon’s recordings in exacting detail. The tunes included in this book contain some of Simon’s most inventive fingerstyle guitar work, from the artful simplicity of the Travis Pick accompaniment of “Kathy’s Song” to the advanced harmonies of “Late Great Johnny Ace.” Six Simon & Garfunkel songs are included, along with four from Paul’s solo career.

The tunes include: “Scarborough Faire,” “The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin’ Groovy),” “Bookends,” “Peace Like A River,” “American Tune,” “Hearts And Bones,” “For Emily” and “Overs,” as well as the two mentioned earlier. All of these classic songs are presented in both standard notation and tablature. Complete vocal parts also are included. Besides Mark’s great tablature system and accurate transcriptions, what makes this book stand out from other TAB books on the market is the measure-by-measure instruction. Mark provides clear and concise guidelines for playing these tunes, even going so far as to analyze chord progressions for you.
